This workshop provides insight into negotiation – a particular method for resolving conflicts in such a way that all the parties involved end up satisfying at least some of their needs and wants. Attendees will share negotiation stories with their peers and dissect what went well or wrong. And small breakout groups will practice applying tactics learned in this session in a variety of scenarios, and individually create a plan for engaging in a negotiation back on the job or at home.
As a result of participating in this workshop, attendees will be able to:
- Identify conflict situations lending themselves to negotiation, vs. those that do not
- Apply learned tactics and techniques, resulting in one of three outcomes of negotiations
- Plan for a negotiation
